Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA), Amritsar, one of the premier organizations working for the cause of art, has nominated O P Sharma, the Founder Director, Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu as Advisor for the Centenary Celebrations (2023-2028) of the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar (Punjab).

It may be mentioned here that the Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar is one of the oldest and the most prestigious institutions in India, promoting art & culture not in the region only but worldwide.
The Academy was established in 1928 and is affiliated with National Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.
The foundation stone of the main building of the Academy was laid down by Dr Rajender Prasad, the first President of India on 13th April 1961.

O P Sharma, hailing from Kot, Jammu (J&K), the Founder and Director of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu, is a renowned artist and photographer. He has been active in promoting art & culture for the last 40 years. Sharma has participated in many national and international art exhibitions, art camps and seminars.

He has been awarded at the state and national level by many organizations in the country.
Sharma has held many solo shows of his artworks in various art galleries of the country. He has a vast experience in the field of visual arts. He has worked as Exhibition Officer and Special Officer, Grade- 1 in J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.

Sharma has curated a large number of state, national and international art exhibitions and camps throughout the country. He has been a jury for many national-level art exhibitions.

Under his Directorship JKCCA has so far organized hundreds of such activities within and outside the state art exhibitions, cultural events, seminars, music concerts, national art camps, book release functions, felicitation events of artists and writers, talent hunt events, demonstration programmes of art forms in and outside the state.
