SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday evening said that several areas of South Kashmir, including Shopian and Pahalgam, are witnessing heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, while moderate showers are being recorded over parts of Central Kashmir.
As per the forecast available with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, there is a possibility of intense showers over adjoining areas, particularly along the Qazigund-Banihal-Ramban axis, during the next one to two hours.
Officials said the weather activity is likely to decrease thereafter.
The department has advised commuters and residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious, especially in hilly and landslide-prone zones. -(KNC)
