SRINAGAR: The Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and Anantnag has issued a circular directing all faculty members, heads of departments, paramedical staff, and students to identify and label their lockers with name, designation, and code by November 14, 2025.

The circular, issued by the Administrator of Associated Hospitals, Srinagar, states that after the specified date, Medical Superintendents of SMHS Hospital, RMO’s of respective floors, and the Estates cum Transport Officer of GMC Srinagar will inspect and remove surplus lockers occupying hospital and college corridors.

It further warns that employees who fail to identify their lockers will not have any claim over them, and Section Officers, Estates Officers, and Accounts Section are instructed not to issue any LPC, NOC, or service book on employee transfers until lockers are properly handed over.

This move aims to streamline space usage and maintain order in corridors of the GMC and SMHS Hospital premises.

In a separate notice isaued by Medical suprintendent GMC Anantnag reads,

It is hereby ordered that all HOD’s should identify the lockers/almiras in their respective departments/wards etc. and get the name of the staff to whom it is allotted pasted on it. Any unidentified locker/almirah who is not owned by anyone shquld be reported to the undersigned. (KNC)
