The Full Dress Rehearsal for 77th Independence Day Celebration was held in District Police Lines (DPL), Shopian where Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha hoisted the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute from the contingents of District Executive Police, CRPF, JKAP, Fire & Emergency, Homeguards, NCC and students from different schools of the district.
In his address, ACR greeted people on the occasion of Independence Day on the behalf of District Administration and outlined the achievements registered by the district Shopian during the current financial year.
He stated that the work on various projects of the district amounting to more than 200 Crores is going on speedily and the district, which has a historical status, is progressing by leaps and bounds.
He said, the district administration is working tirelessly for ensuring Har Ghar Jal by October, 2023 by executing hundreds of schemes worth more than 400 crores.
While remembering the contributions of the eminent freedom fighters, ACR also recalled the sacrifices of the Martyrs and freedom fighters which fetched Indian Independence.
The Full Dress Rehearsal witnessed a colourful cultural show presented by the students featuring singing of patriotic songs, folk dance and music.
DPO Poshan Abhiyan, Nisar Ahmad Malik, SDM, Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed, ASP, Shopian, Naresh Singh besides district heads of different departments were also present on the occasion along with hundreds of employees, general public and students.
