Encounter has broken out in Chewaklan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a cordon and search operation in Chewaklan village turned into encounter.
Police confirmed the exchange of fire through a tweet also.
Sources added that village had been cordoned off after receiving inputs about the movement of militants.
“There was an exchange of fire between militants and forces. Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.”
