SRINAGAR: The Lok Sabha on Tuesday suspended eight Opposition Members of Parliament for disorderly conduct after papers were thrown towards the Chair during proceedings of the Budget Session.

Among those suspended are Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Raja Warring, Ebi Eden, Kiren Reddy and Venkat Raman. The remaining two MPs were also suspended for similar conduct.

The Speaker strongly condemned the incident, describing it as a serious breach of parliamentary decorum, and warned that such behaviour would not be tolerated in the House.

The suspensions were imposed amid continued disruptions during the Budget Session, as the Chair sought to restore order and ensure smooth conduct of proceedings. -(KL)
