SRINAGAR: Hours after Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Budgam candidate Agha Syed Mehmood said that Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi would campaign for the party in the upcoming elections, the JKNC MP responded sharply, asserting that his loyalty lies with his “conscience and principles.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ruhullah wrote “My loyalty is to my conscience and principles. While I hold respect for my elders in my family, I request them not to belittle my fight (our fight). If they can’t comprehend it and be part of it, at least don’t drag me and my struggle to this level.”
Ruhullah’s response came after Mehmood, earlier in the day, described him as a “party man” and “like my son,” expressing confidence that he would join the party’s campaign. (KDC)
