Pulwama: Sunridges Trekking and Mountaineering Club Ratnipora Pulwama organized District sport climbing championship for Pulwama District today at TRC Wall Nowgam Srinagar. The club is one of the oldest registered clubs of Kashmir Valley, the club is also affiliated with Mountaineering Association of Jammu and Kashmir. 

The championship was organized under the aegis of Mountaineering Association of J&K and was sponsored by J&K Sports Council. 50 Climbers boys & girls from different clubs, schools & institutions took part in the championship. In boys Junior category Arif Fayaz secured Ist position, Faizan Mehraj secured second position & Yasir Ahmad secured third position.

In Sub junior boys Abdul Basit secured first position, Ali Andrabi secured second position & Mir Sibgatullah secured third position. In Girls junior Munazah Maqbool secured first position Ayra secured second position & Mursala Jan secured third position.


In Sub junior girls Hafsa secured first position, Hadia Nabi secured second position & Arbena Fayaz secured third position. 


In over all medal tally ValenTeens School Ratnipora Pulwama bagged the highest number of medals. 

On the prize distribution function the Divisional Sports Officer (C) J&K Sports Council Mtr. Nusrat Ghazala was the chief guest on the occasion, other dignified guests included Dr Syed Muzamil Andrabi Principal Scientist Indian Integrative Medicine RRL Srinagar, Mtr. Musbhat Ji legal advisor J&K Sports Council & Mr. Jameel Mustafa senior Mountaineer. Medals & trophies were presented to the position holders, guests and officials, participants were also presented with certificates on the ceremony. 


Speaking on the occasion Mtr. Nusrat Ghazala hailed the organizing committee of the club for their efforts in promoting adventure sports among the rural youth. 

Organizing secretary Syed Abdul Mohsin thanked J&K Tourism Department for providing the Climbing Wall & necessary equipment for successfully organizing the championship.
