Srinagar: A cop from SOG was injured after an encounter broke out between militants and security forces in the Tantra area of Doda district on Wednesday.
Srinagar based news agency GNS quoted official sources as saying that on specific input, joint team of Police and army’s 4RR launched cordon and search operations in the area.
As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight.
During initial exchange of fire, one SOG personnel received a bullet wound, he was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
