SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will present Jammu Kashmir’s budget for 2026-27 in the Assembly on Friday.

As per the business list issued by the Assembly Secretariat, the Chief Minister, who also holds the Finance portfolio, will present the annual financial statement of expenditure for 2026–27 in the House after Question Hour.

He will also table the supplementary statement of expenditure for the financial year 2025–26.

This will be the second Budget presented by the Chief Minister. Earlier, on March 7, 2025, Omar Abdullah presented his first Budget of Rs 1.12 lakh crore for the newly created Union Territory, announcing several measures for the poorest sections, including free travel for women on government buses.

However, opposition parties criticised the Budget, stating that it failed to adequately address the concerns of the middle class and unemployed youth.
