New Delhi: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) has said that steps have been taken to ensure adequate domestic LPG supply in view of the current geopolitical disruptions affecting fuel availability.

In a post on X, the Ministry, said, In light of current geopolitical disruptions to fuel supply and constraints on supply of LPG, Ministry has issued orders to oil refineries for higher LPG production and using such extra production for domestic LPG use.

The Ministry said domestic LPG supply to households has been prioritised and a 25-day inter-booking period has been introduced to prevent hoarding and black marketing.

It added that non-domestic LPG supply sourced from imports will be prioritised for essential sectors such as hospitals and educational institutions.

For other non-domestic sectors, including restaurants, hotels and industries, the Ministry said a committee comprising three Executive Directors of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) has been constituted to examine representations regarding LPG supply, it said. (KNC)
