Srinagar: With Lok Sabha elections approaching thick and fast, the political developments in Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing an even pace with parties confabulating with like-mind partieses’ to strike possible deals on seat sharing to make their presence felt in the House of People.

The fresh development in Jammu and Kashmir political circles is that Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit president Ravinder Raina, as per sources, is likely to contest from Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat.

The sources said that Raina who was earlier being offered a party mandate from Jammu-Reasi constituency, but the firebrand speaker politely put down the offer and has been insisting to contest from the Anantnag-Rajouri seat only.

“It is believed that the party may give up on his request and offer him the mandate on the Anantnag-Rajouri seat”, the sources said.

“After the expected withdrawal by Ravinder Raina from Jammu-Reasi constituency, chances are bright that sitting MP Jugal Kishore may be given a third chance,” the sources said adding moreover Dr. Jitendra Singh, Sunil Sharma,Devinder Singh Rana and Shakti Parihar are among the front runners for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, the sources said, may be given another opportunity from the party ticket from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary Constituency.

Notably, two former Chief Ministers – Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah as per reports are set to contest from Anantnag and Srinagar constituencies respectively.
