Mir Aasif; A well-known Journalist of Kashmir valley Mir Aasif is a dedicated journalist and media personality from Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, known for his impactful storytelling, commitment to truth, and strong connection with the people of South Kashmir. Mir Aasif was born on 15 March 1999 in Mohandpora Trenz area of South Kashmir’s shopian district. As the Founder and Editor of Press Exclusive — a Kashmir-based digital news platform — Mir Aasif has earned recognition for delivering credible, timely, and balanced journalism focused on politics, social issues, human rights, and local developments. Beyond his work in digital journalism, Mir Aasif is a popular Radio Jockey (RJ Aasif) on 89.6 Radio Paigam Shopian, where he hosts the widely appreciated morning show “The Early Vibes” from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM. His engaging and heartfelt on-air presence has made him a familiar and respected voice in Kashmir’s media landscape, admired for his empathy, authenticity, and ability to connect deeply with listeners. Under his leadership, Press Exclusive has emerged as a trusted source of regional news, emphasizing ethical reporting, community awareness, and human-interest stories. His journalistic efforts consistently highlight underreported aspects of life in rural Kashmir — from local governance and education to environmental issues, youth empowerment, and development. Driven by his passion for public awareness and responsible media, Mir Aasif has also worked on several special reports, community features, and documentary projects, reflecting his vision of journalism as a tool for social change and accountability. Mir Aasif has been working in the journalism field since 2016, and he has reported many stories from the kashmir region of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He tried his best to put forward the stories that were lost for decades, and as of 2022, he is still doing it. He contributes to various national and regional media, including AB News, Shahrbeen Times, Al Hind Global Press Media, Bekhoof Awaz and more. He has also been a video journalist and writer for prime post and a special reporter for kashmir based daily newspaper Shahrbeen Times. In addition to his independent work, Mir Aasif is also associated with Kashmir Frontier, a leading daily newspaper based in Jammu and Kashmir. He obtained his high school education from Hanfiya Institute High School. Later he moved to Govt Degree College Shopian for higher studies. He graduated from Govt. Degree College Shopian affiliated with Kashmir University. He also did his Bachelor of Arts in Tourism Studies. Eventually he enrolled in Masters of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Mir Aasif is a well known photographer and content creator (writer) of Kashmir valley. He covered many law and order situations till date. His photographs were published by well known websites and newspapers of Jammu and Kashmir.
