Jerusalem: At least 19 Palestinian people were injured late Sunday during clashes with the Israeli forces at Bab Al-Amud district, Damascus Gate, in the occupied Jerusalem City, Palestine Red Crescent Society said.

Four of the wounded were admitted to the hospital, and the others were treated on the site, the society added in a press statement.

The Israeli forces deployed at the district fired bullets at dozens of Palestinian youths.

The incidents came a few hours after Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, accompanied by police forces, had broken into the district.

Israel reinforces its presence in Jerusalem and the West Bank as well as the contact lines at a time when it announces that it conducts regional and international contacts to prevent escalation.

In addition, Israeli officials are making provocative tours in Jerusalem, and forces continue killing and arresting Palestinians.
