Srinagar: With the announcement of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India Friday clamped Model Code of Conduct (MCC) across the Union Territory, with immediate effect.
The Commission has made the directive after earlier on announcing the assembly polls, in three phases, starting from September 18 with the counting slated on October 4.
The MCC besides J&K, has simultaneously gone effective in Haryana and Maharashtra.
