Call for an immediate assessment of apple crop losses
Srinagar: Apni Party’s prominent leaders, including Vice President Usman Majid, Vice President Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, and Chief Coordinator and District President of Kulgam, Abdul Majeed Padder, on Tuesday, jointly called upon the administration to initiate a thorough assessment of the crop losses caused by the recent hailstorm in the valley, in order to provide adequate compensation to those affected.
In a joint statement, the leaders expressed their grief for the losses suffered by the valley’s fruit growers due to adverse weather conditions, particularly the recent hailstorm.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that an intense hailstorm has caused extensive damage to apple crops in the districts of Shopian and Kulgam in South Kashmir, as well as Bandipora in North Kashmir. In these challenging times, the Apni Party stands in solidarity with the affected farmers and orchardists,” the statement reads.
Apni Party leaders urged authorities to ensure that the affected fruit growers receive adequate compensation to aid in their recovery. “We request the LG administration to dispatch official teams to the affected areas for a comprehensive evaluation of the damage caused by the hailstorm. This will enable the affected farmers to receive fair compensation to help them cope with their losses,” the statement added.
