“With assistance of family, Police brought back Irfan Bashir Ganie alias soba Ganie Aged about 25yrs Son of Bashir Ahmad of Below Pulwama along with AK-47 rifle which he snatched from CRPF personnel today morning,” ADGP Kashmir said in a tweet as per GNS, adding, “Investigation going on. We appreciate the role of family.”

- Huge Cache of Arms, Ammunition & Narcotics Seized, 1 Arrested in Kupwara: Police
Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday said to have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition besides narcotics even as having arrested an individual in frontier North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
“In a major success on anti-militant activities , Kupwara Police has arrested a person from Karnah area of the district and recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and narcotics”, reads a statement issued to GNS.
“Based on a specific information received by District Police Kupwara, that a huge consignment of arms, ammunition and narcotics has been smuggled in by two persons in Chatkadi area of Police Station Karnah, a joint search operation was carried by police team led by SHO Karnah along with a team of Army 6 JAK RIF”, the statement reads.
“During the search operation one Umar Aziz son of Aziz-u- Rehman Kumar a resident Chatkadi was apprehended. On his sustained questioning, Umar confessed about the receiving of a consignment of arms, ammunition and narcotis by him and his other associate. On Umar’s disclosure, a detailed search was carried out and a huge consignment of narcotics and arms and ammunition was recovered from Garangnard Chatkadi.”
The recovery, the statement reads includes five (05) Pistols, 10 Pistol Magazines, 77 Pistol rounds, one pistol cleaning rod, one Pistol User Manual guide, four (04) Hand Grenades and 10 packets of Heroin like narcotics substance weighing 9.450 Kgs
- Rajouri Firing Incident: 3 injured succumb at hospital
- MS GMC Rajouri says among 10 injured persons, 4 critical
Three persons, who were among 13 injured in a firing incident in Dangri village of Rajouri district on Sunday evening, have succumbed to their injuries at GMC Rajouri, officials said here.
Meanwhile, an official said the area is around 7 to 8 kilometres away from main Rajouri town, while
police and army have rushed to the spot.

Weather Update
Mostly dry weather is expected in entire Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh till 06 January.
Starting tonight, a significant drop is expected in minimum temperatures.
As of now, a Western Disturbance will affect the Union Territories from 07 Jan. More details will be shared in the coming days.
