Srinagar: In a tragic incident of its type, two persons were retrieved dead while three others hospitalised after they fell unconscious while cleaning a well in the Kralpora area in Kupwara.
As per reports, distress caught Kralpora village after three persons stopped responding to the calls of the owner of a well – who had tasked them to clean the water source at his home in Satboin Dardpora.
Sensing the emergency, the house owner and another person in a frantic bid to rescue the persons went inside the well. However the things became too oblivious as no one responded after quite a while. The locals assembled at the site later on made a joint effort and removed all the five persons from inside the well and took them to a nearby hospital, where two were declared as brought dead on arrival.
Among the deceased include Farid Ahmad Khoja & Bashir Ahmad Khoja, while those hospitalised are Safeer Ahmad, Qasim ud Din and Abdul Hameed are undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, GNS news agency, citing officials, has also reported about the unfortunate incident, writing further that more details are awaited.
